This a local Indivisible event! Honk & Wave - FUND SNAP! 750,000 Oregonians use SNAP to put food on the table. Nationally, over 1.3 million active duty service members & veterans rely on SNAP. The USDA has an emergency reserve fund to keep SNAP going despite the government shutdown but this administration and its congressional lackeys are more concerned with scoring political points and in self-enrichment than in doing their job. Given that the news never stops we're decided to make our protest a regular event. Until further notice, we're rallying every Friday in downtown Albany near the corner of 4th Avenue & Ellsworth (by City Hall & the County Courthouse). October 31 will be our final 4-6:00 pm rally. From November 1 to March 1 we're switching to 3-5:00 pm. Bring your opinions, bring your signs! A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
