Jewish Voice for Peace - Albany
Sukkot Rally: Consecration & Commemoration
🍋🍉Sukkot Rally: Consecration & Commemoration
🗓️Sunday, October 5th
⏰ 3pm-5pm
📍 Academy Park - Across from City Hall 24 Eagle St. Albany NY
Join JVP Albany for a rally to consecrate our community sukkah, commemorate the lives lost during two years of genocide, demand an end to fascism abroad and at home, and celebrate our own resilience as a movement.
As Jewish communities gather in their sukkahs to celebrate the Sukkot harvest holiday, JVP Albany will be consecrating a sukkah of our own remembering that in Gaza there is no harvest, nor food; no safety, nor homes. Our Sukkah will invite the public in to create and view art that will stimulate curiosity, empathy, and action.
This family friendly event will be rooted in the traditions of sukkot and will culminate in an urgent call to action for all, Jews and non-Jews, to re-dedicate ourselves to our movement for justice.
Join us after the rally to break bread over challah, apples, and honey. 🍎🍯
😷Masks encouraged and provided.
