Keep going, Alexandria! Alexandria City Council just proposed a $200K cut to Sheriff Sean Casey’s 2027 budget. If you had not mobilized to city meetings, made public comments, and placed a ton of community pressure on the council to act to stop Casey’s voluntary collaboration with ICE, this small but important first step would not have happened. This is a step towards holding Sheriff Casey accountable for collaborating with ICE. For now, this cut is a proposal. They still need to vote and approve it. AND we know that Casey is mobilizing the opposition to pack the room with his people to claw back every penny. We need you to show up, be in that room, and to use your voice to demand funds for housing not ICE collaboration!
