Censorship is a powerful weapon used by authoritarian regimes. Federal and state-sanctioned censorship has been increasing in the last year. Next Saturday, on November 22, Indivisible Georgia District 10 is calling attention to book bans in our area. Are you a book lover? Join us to protest Georgia book bans. We will meet on Saturday, Nov. 22 prior to the UGA football game at the Athens Library on Baxter and ride together to campus. Come join us! We need volunteers to wear sandwich boards featuring authors and their books. You can also read excerpts from a banned book that is close to your heart. This event is part of the "Fall of Freedom" initiative by prominent national artists who are using art to protest authoritarianism.
