Rally at ICE Field Office to Stop Rodney Taylor Threat of Deportation

Indivisible

You’ve sent emails, made phone calls, and protested on the streets demanding the release of Rodney Taylor and the improvement of conditions for all detainees at Stewart. Now join us as we increase the pressure on ICE. Join community leaders, immigration advocates, Georgia elected officials and Rodney Taylor’s family outside the Atlanta ICE Field office for a rally and press conference, followed by the hand-delivery to ICE of a letter signed by state lawmakers and a petition with 7,500+ signatures from community members, demanding an immediate halt to Rodney Taylor’s imminent deportation. This action is part of a growing national campaign calling for the release of Rodney, a longtime U.S. resident and double-amputee who has suffered inhumane conditions for over a year at Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Ga. Speakers will highlight the urgency of Taylor’s situation, emphasizing that his legal case remains ongoing and that deportation at this stage raises serious due process concerns. Advocates will also speak to broader issues surrounding conditions at Stewart Detention Center, and the disproportionate impact of immigration enforcement on Black immigrants and immigrants with disabilities. We won’t stop demanding Rodney’s release until the day he rejoins his family! @freerodneytaylor A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
