As the Democratic Party politicians continue to capitulate to the deeply unpopular far-right Trump agenda of undoing our democratic rights and gutting social welfare programs to put more profits in the hands of the billionaires, it is up to the working class people—the tens of millions of us—to stop the ruling-class in this country that is waging an all-out assault on our communities. The billionaires own and control the vast amount of wealth and resources under this system—capitalism. Food, housing, healthcare and all of our other basic necessities are held hostage as commodities for profit. In the richest country in the world, even when SNAP isn’t paused, tens of millions of Americans have to choose between putting food on their plates or paying their bills. The history of this country shows us that the rights we have were fought for by organized workers and mass movements of millions of people. It is the tens of millions of workers in this country that run the economy. Not the billionaires. That’s why we have the power to make fundamental transformative change. But we can only use that power if we are organized, and if we can build unity to overcome the divide-and-rule tactics of the billionaires and their politicians of both Parties that fund endless wars and racist deportations with our tax dollars while we go hungry.
