Join your neighbors and get organized! In the next few days a series of town halls will be held throughout Austin in response to the repeated attacks on our communities by ICE and DHS. In the shadow of the looming, unmarked ICE facility in Pflugerville, through the constant reminders on social media feeds of the state-sanctioned brutality in OUR streets the best time to get organized is right now. These town halls will be an opportunity to learn about: 🗣️ How the US enacts its draconian and unjust immigration policies 🗣️ Your rights in the context of these policies 🗣️ Ways that you can empower yourself and your community to take care of each other and build something better 🗣️ Most importantly, this will be an open forum to connect with your neighbors in response to the abuses of a system that thrives on apathy and individualism! These will be spaces for all. Whether you’ve got years in the immigration advocacy space or this is your first time, a strong community has places for everyone.
