Austin - Texas: May Day 2026 Labor Rally and March

May Day Strong

Join the Austin Central Labor Council for a rally at Austin City Hall, with speakers from local labor leaders and community organizers, followed by a Texas-sized march up Congress Avenue to the Capitol Grounds. On May 1st, we celebrate the original Labor Day - International Workers Day. May Day is a day to celebrate the proud history of the international labor movement and the brave people worldwide who have dedicated and sacrificed their lives to create a better world. This struggle continues even today as we stand in the face of ICE raids, another war of aggression in the Middle East, multi-pronged attacks on worker's rights, and the incipient rise of fascism and political takeover by the billionaire class. Organized working-class power is the only way we can hope to stop these forces, and build a better world for everyone. Let's celebrate May Day, demonstrate unity, and flex our collective muscle with a tremendous day of power by joining our neighbors, rallying, marching, dancing, and actions, and saying: No Work, No School, No Shopping. Note: A core principle behind all our events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
