Toward Freedom at Last: Revolutionary Open Mic
TOWARD FREEDOM AT LAST!
Join us this Saturday for an open mic night honoring the revolutionary legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The Civil Rights Movement was a revolutionary period that overthrew legal apartheid in the United States. But Dr. King himself knew this revolution was incomplete. Two weeks before his assassination he spoke in support of a strike of sanitation workers in Memphis, “If America does not use her vast resources of wealth to end poverty and make it possible for all of God’s children to have the basic necessities of life, she too will go to hell.”
We commit to continuing onwards to the horizon Dr. King strove toward. At this open mic night, we will celebrate and dedicate ourselves to his struggle against racism, militarism, poverty, and much more.
