[ This a local Indivisible event! We are getting an enthusiastic response, and people asked if we are going to do it again! So we are! ICE have been seen all over Washington County, including Beaverton, quite a bit in the past several weeks. We don’t want them here; all of our neighbors belong. And we do not need or want federal troops in Oregon. There is no invasion, no insurrection. We are peaceful protesters exercising our Constitutional right of free speech by saying no to ICE, no to federal troops including the National Guard. We are thanking our local law enforcement for doing their job and remembering that Oregon is a sanctuary state, where police are not cooperating with ICE. And we are peaceful. Bring your friends and neighbors and signs and chants, and music. Indivisible Beaverton is hosting this event. All are welcome. Please note time change as the days get darker to 3:30-4:30. A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
