This a local Indivisible event! Do you live in the Fairfield-Benton area in Maine? Are you pro-democracy and anti-fascism? Are you looking for an opportunity to gather with like-minded folks in your area for a peaceful protest against the current federal "administration's" rapid descent into authoritarianism and destruction of all the institutions we rely on for our well-being, safety, and human rights? Then join us on Thursdays from 4-5pm on the Fairfield/Benton bridge over the Kennebec River. There is plenty of municipal parking on both sides of the bridge (NOTE: folks will gather on the Fairfield side of the bridge at Upper Main and Bridge St) and the traffic across the bridge at that time of day is heavy, so your signs will be seen by lots of people! When the people rise, the tyrants fall! A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
