Kaddish on the bridge

Host: JVP Rhode Island JVP-RI is hosting a weekly grief space at the Providence Pedestrian bridge (officially named Michael S. Van Leesten Memorial Bridge) from 1-1:30 PM. We will be saying Kaddish, a Jewish mourning prayer, and we welcome other readings and rituals that allow us to grieve the over 26,700 people who have been killed in Gaza and the West Bank. You do not need to be Jewish to join us. What is Kaddish? Kaddish is a Jewish prayer of mourning. It can only be recited when there is a gathering of 10 or more people. In Judaism, there is a notion that certain prayers can only be said in community. What will this ritual space look like? We will gather every Sunday to say Kaddish and share readings or rituals that allow us to grieve the on-going genocide in Gaza and West Bank. If you would like to offer a ritual or reading, message us.
