Protect Trans Futures
MARCH FOR TRANS FUTURES
Our federal government is attacking trans people at every turn: regulations threatening hospitals that provide lifesaving care, bills targeting families and caregivers, bans on passports with correct gender markers, and the cancellation of research grants tied to trans and queer lives. It’s a frightening time to be trans, or to love someone who is.
We’ve watched as laws have multiplied and state after state has gone after rights that should belong to every person. We’re no longer safe just because we live in a “blue” state. This fight has come to our city. Our own clinics are shutting down care.
We are tired of being punching bags. We are tired of being scapegoats. We are tired of an endless cycle of terrifying headlines and our rights treated as a debate by both parties.
Our futures belong to us, and we will protect them together. Our trans ancestors show us that we will never be legislated or regulated out of existence. We will always exist, and we will never accept our oppression silently. But, we also need allies willing to stand up and take real risks. We need leaders willing to move beyond slogans and social media campaigns to concrete action and legislation that protects our healthcare, dignity, and safety.
It’s time for Boston to take a stand. Join us as we demand our Attorney General and state legislators stand shoulder to shoulder with the trans community.
March with us on February 7th at 1 PM, starting at the Boston Public Garden Bandstand. We need community members, loved ones, allies, neighbors, community organizations, and healthcare workers to show up and show our leaders what courage in the face of attack looks like. Our futures depend on it.
