SOLIDARITY WITH MINNEAPOLIS DAY OF TRUTH & FREEDOM
*RSVP in stories/bio, contact for interest in endorsing*
Friday, Jan 23, unions and community organizations in Minneapolis have called for an economic blackout: NO WORK, NO SHOPPING, NO SCHOOL! Calling back to the 1934 Teamsters general strike which shut down the same city and paved the way for federal worker organizing protections, we are calling on our members, allies & communities to stand in solidarity with this mass strike at rallies across the state at 4pm, Jan 23. Details on specific rally locations below, & coming soon near you!
Bridgeport: Federal Building • 915 Lafayette Blvd
New Haven: Town Green • 900 Chapel St
While we encourage those who are able to sick out and not engage in any economic activity in solidarity with workers & immigrants in Minneapolis, we know not everyone has the luxury of time off. Instead, consider organizing a 2 minute moment of silence with your coworkers, and discuss with them why withholding our labor is the most powerful way to win justice for Renee Good, Keith Porter, and all people terrorized by ICE.
