Support Derell Mickles at Court

Equality for Flatbush

🚨🚨🚨#FreeDerell Mickles Repost from @justice4derell • UPDATE: DERELL HAS BEEN MOVED TO RIKERS’ RESH UNIT As of this Monday, Derell has been moved from OBCC to Rikers Island’s RESH Unit (Rose M. Singer Enhanced Superivision Housing). Derell has already been held captive in Rikers for nearly two years on pre-trial detention, enduring egregious and inhumane conditions from frigid temperatures to lice outbreaks and mice feces in his food. Derell also faces an upcoming intensive surgical procedure with at least a six-week recovery time and a minimum three-day hospital stay. He has yet to receive care or information from medical personnel he trusts. While the courts scramble to get their lies together, claiming they are not yet ready for trial and delaying Derell’s next appearance until the end of March, we know that every day incarcerated in Rikers is another attempted murder by the state. Derell wants to fight for his freedom, and it is our duty to fight alongside him. Derell’s freedom is all our freedoms! Support Derell at his next court date: 📍March 25 at 9:30 AM, Kings Supreme Court (Part 4) 💌 Write to Derell at his new address. Send him strength & solidarity ahead of surgery: Derell Mickles #8252401181 RESH (RMSC Enhanced Supervised Housing) 19-19 Hazen Street East Elmhurst, NY 11370 Put money on his books: Venmo @crownheightsbitesback (*Add a 🌸 emoji to the description)
