EQUALITY PROTEST CoRe!
Equality for Flatbush
‼️‼️PROTEST APRIL 7th 4-6pm at CoRe’s office 312 BROADWAY. ‼️‼️Communities Resist (CoRe) @communitiesresist has decided to no longer serve E4F’s Black tenants, because E4F has been holding them accountable for their negligence and Anti-Black racism towards our tenants since 2023. CoRe’s original team was POC-led and a trusted community partner of E4F since 2016.
Specifically, the reason this is happening now is that 75 Lenox Road tenants fired CoRe as their attorneys in February 2026 because CoRe had not filed the repairs action with Housing Court within four months. The vast majority of the tenants at 75 Lenox are Caribbean and Central American migrants of color who have been living with black mold, leaks, broken windows and fire escapes that are not even attached to the building for decades.
Within 2 weeks of working with E4F, 75 Lenox tenants began receiving community support on social media including Channel 12 news coverage . At 6pm on 3/9 , we learned that CoRe would no longer provide our tenants with legal services in retaliation for 75 Lenox Road ‘s courage to fire them for neglect.
Since 2023, 15 of E4F’s buildings primarily in Flatbush and Crown Heights have been directly impacted by CoRe’s anti-Black legal negligence and racism . E4F’s tenant associations were forced to go through a retainer gathering three times without ever filing an HP action for repairs. CoRe’s neglect not only forced close to two thousand tenants to go without heat, hot water and repairs for a year and a half but also destroyed trust in E4F as well as the tenant activism happening at these buildings.
