Sleep in Palestine: an exhibition of art, story, and song highlighting the impact of genocide and occupation on Palestinians' sleep. Saturday 2nd May 2-6pm St Paul's Church, Hills Road The exhibition hosts a concert of classical art song at 4.45pm, which will explore a variety of troubled relationships with sleep due to love and loss. Featuring An Inch for Each of the Dead: a collaborative textile art piece memorialising every Palestinian life lost since October 7, 2023. Come and listen to Palestinians' personal testimonies about experiences of sleep and lack of sleep, read aloud by voice recording by Palestinians from Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem. These were collected by Illuminated Cities between 2023 and 2025. Other artworks on sleep and dreams invite you to consider how difficulties with sleep affect us all, a shared human experience across diverse forms of distress, grief and suffering.
