Indivisible
California Strong-Hold the Line-Carpinteria
On Saturday, September 27th, we are drawing a line in the sand.
Pro-Democracy groups across California are coming together to organize a state-wide demonstration of strength and solidarity along the coast of California to protest Trump’s increasingly aggressive attacks on our democracy and to show support for Proposition 50, the Election Rigging Response Act.
Protest begins at 10:00 am and ends at 12:00pm. From 11:00 to 11:15 we will lock arms for 15 minutes of silence and solidarity before continuing our protest.
This will not be a march but we will form a human chain. Human chains will form up and down the coast of California. Some cities, like Santa Barbara, will have signs on overpasses. Ventura will hold a rally on their Pier.
Check-in will be at the Peace Corner. From there we will form a line on the South side of Carpinteria Ave. from Holly Ave to Palm Ave.
If you like you may bring a chair, walker, wheelchair or other aid that will allow you to be comfortable in the line.
The event is open to ANYONE and EVERYONE!
A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
