ICE Out of Cary Rally with Wake County Indivisible
Indivisible
Join Wake County Indivisible on the sidewalk with ICE OUT OF CARY signs to let our city leaders know we oppose ICE presence in any form in our peaceful town. We will gather outside of Cary Town Hall during the State of Cary Address for a peaceful protest and disseminate information on how Cary Citizens can share their opinions with the Town Council.
Cary is a vibrant, diverse town where 44% of residents proudly identify as a demographic other than White. Our strength lies in our diversity, our shared values, and the trust we build with one another every day.
We are coming together to voice our opposition to the introduction of new Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities in our city. An increased ICE presence around our homes, schools, and neighborhoods risks damaging trust in local law enforcement, lowering property values, and placing members of our community at greater risk of harmful encounters.
We respectfully call upon the Town of Cary to oppose this proposed ICE expansion using every available means. We also urge the leasing company and owners of 11000 Regency Parkway to decline leasing office space to the General Services Administration (GSA), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), or Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Your voice matters. Your presence matters.
Together, let’s stand for a Cary that remains welcoming, safe, and united.
A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
