Honoring Our Veterans Rally - Charles Town - Tuesday Nov. 11 - Veterans Day

This a local Indivisible Jefferson County WV event! We invite you to join us on Veterans Day, November 11, at 11:30 a.m. in downtown Charles Town, at the corner of Washington and George Street by the Old Court House. This is an opportunity to honor and celebrate our veterans and the VA. Veterans Day is a time to pause, reflect, and express our gratitude to those who have served our country with courage and dedication. We will gather in peace to honor all who have served. To say thank the VA for serving our Veterans. Please come out and show your appreciation. We encourage you to bring your American flags and signs. Please keep your messages positive. We also suggest wearing red, white, and blue to show your support. Many of us have service members in our family and friend circles. Below are statements from two of our Chapter Leaders: "Two years ago, we had an inurnment for my dad at Arlington. He served his country and was laid to rest with honors. I believe in supporting all of our veterans and standing together to thank them. I believe this event must be one of unity, and we should save political statements for another time. Let us celebrate those who are living and who serve or have served our country. I want to stand elbow to elbow with everyone on the streets to show our gratitude." — Susan "I want to celebrate our veterans on Veterans Day, November 11th. Most of you know my history, so, in part, it's because of the contributions made by my late husband, my father, my brother, my uncles, aunts, cousins, and grandparents. I want to show my gratitude to all those brave Americans who served their country. It's not a criticism of the government, even though there's much criticism to be had. It's simply to say THANK YOU and to celebrate their service. Veterans Day is to honor those who are still alive and have served America. I'll be on the streets of Charles Town, sign in hand, to show my gratitude and appreciation to our veterans." — Sara Please share the pictures and videos you take by tagging us with #IJCWV, #IndivisiblejeffersonCounty, and #veteransday. We would also appreciate it if you could share them on our Facebook page so we can feature them on our social media. TELL YOUR STORY!! We all have them to share.
