Party for Socialism and Liberation - Charlotte, NC

Community Forum & Discussion: Rooted In Resistance

Our healthcare system is broken! While people suffer, billion dollar insurance companies rake in record profits. But it doesn’t have to be this way! Throughout history, people have fought for and won the right to better healthcare and disability accommodations—from the struggles that won Social Security and Medicaid, to the militant struggles of disabled people that forced increased accommodations. Join the Party for Socialism and Liberation and Latonya Jackson, founder of Rootz of Power, for a discussion of her book Down 2 Da Rootz, a firsthand account of surviving America’s broken healthcare system. This conversation will connect her story to the broader struggle against Disability and Empire, highlighting the fight for dignified healthcare and disability justice. 📅 Saturday, Nov 22 🕑 2 - 4PM 📍 Hygge Coworking, 1026 Jay St -——— ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Latonya S.
