Lincoln Square No Kings Rally Family-Friendly Send-Off: Chalk the Walk

No Kings

About this event Before the big rally downtown, let's come together as a community to show that democracy lives right here - in our neighborhoods, in our hearts, and in the voices of our kids. Join us for Chalk the Walk, a Family-Friendly pre-No Kings Rally where we'll raise our voices with art, love, and unity. This peaceful event is our way of saying: we believe in a democracy that serves everyone. Bring the little ones! We’ll have: Sign-making stations ✍️ Chalk art and bubbles 🎨 Community-building activities for all ages ❤️ A mini-march around the park for the whole family 🪧 Let’s fill Welles Park with powerful messages of hope, equity, and resistance, and send off those heading downtown for the No Kings Rally with strength and solidarity. Together, we reject the harm caused by the Trump administration and stand up for a future where all our neighbors are safe, seen, and supported. This is our neighborhood. This is our city. This is our democracy. Show up and make your voices loud! The kids can keep playing after the march for one big pro-democracy playdate! For those attending the rally downtown, this also serves as a meet-up point, and folks can depart together towards the Irving Park Brown Line Station. 📢 How to Prepare for Chalk the Walk: ✅ Bring chalk and signs → Make your message visible! (Ideas: “NO KINGS IN AMERICA!”, “THE PEOPLE UNITED”, “NO WAR!”) ✅ Recruit friends → The more people, the more power. ✅ Record everything → Post photos/videos with #NoKings A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
