NW Chicago No Kings Rally Family-Friendly Send-Off: Chalk the Walk
No Kings
Before the big rally downtown, let's come together as a community to show that democracy lives right here - on our sidewalks, in our hearts, and in the voices of our kids.
Join us for Chalk the Walk, a Family-Friendly pre-No Kings Rally where we'll raise our voices with art, love, and unity. This peaceful event is our way of saying: we believe in a democracy that serves everyone.
Bring the little ones! We’ll have:
✍️ Sign-making stations
🎨 Chalk art and templates
❤️ Community-building activities for all ages
🪧 A mini-march for the whole family
Let’s fill Independence Park with powerful messages of hope, equity, and resistance, and send off those heading downtown for the No Kings Rally with strength and solidarity. Together, we reject the harm caused by the Trump administration and stand up for a future where all our neighbors are safe, seen, and supported.
This is our sidewalk. This is our democracy. Let’s chalk it up.
For those attending the rally downtown, this also serves as a meet-up point, and folks can depart together from the Irving Park Blue Line Station.
A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
📢 How to Prepare for Chalk the Walk:
✅ Bring signs or props → Make your message visible! (Ideas: “NO KINGS IN AMERICA!”, “THE PEOPLE UNITED”, “NOT YOUR PIGGYBANK!”)
✅ Recruit friends → The more people, the more power.
✅ Record everything → Post photos/videos with #NoKings
