Building a United Front Against Fascism
PSL Chicago
✊🏾 As Fred Hampton Sr. said, “We don’t think you fight fire with fire best; we think you fight fire with water best. We’re going to fight racism not with racism, but we’re gonna fight with solidarity. We say we’re not going to fight capitalism with Black capitalism, but we’re going to fight it with socialism.“
In the late 1960s, Hampton built something the ruling class couldn’t allow: The Rainbow Coalition. The Black Panthers. The Young Patriots. The Young Lords. Poor whites, Puerto Ricans, and Black organizers united against poverty, police terror, and capitalism.
This wasn’t symbolic diversity. It was class struggle that threatened power in Chicago. That’s why Hampton was assassinated at 21. That’s why this history was buried.
