MLK Day | Chicago Resists

✊🏾 MARK YOUR CALENDARS!! Join dozens of organizations for a march condemning ICE terror and honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy! Here in Chicago in 1967, Dr. King gave a speech denouncing “the three evils of society”: racism, militarism, and poverty. Today the rich are doubling down on all three evils to fatten their pockets, while working-class people need resources and political power for our communities. Only a movement of the people who make society run can challenge the rich and replace capitalism with a new system. We demand: ABOLISH ICE! END THE GENOCIDES! STOP THE WARS! TAX THE RICH! 🗓️ Monday, January 19 (MLK Day) ⏰ 1PM 📍 Water Tower Park “So we are here because we believe, we hope, we pray that something new might emerge in the political life of this nation which will produce a new man, new structures and institutions and a new life for mankind. I am convinced that this new life will not emerge until our nation undergoes a radical revolution of values.” - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, 1967
