Vigil: Demand the US Purge Palantir

Mennonite Action Chicago

🕯️Join us on Good Friday, April 3. We’ll gather to learn, to sing in solidarity, and we’ll hold a vigil for the many lives taken too soon by Palantir’s violence against our communities and abroad. 🗓️ Friday, April 3 ⏰ 12:00 P.M. 📍 Federal Plaza Palantir, is a multi-billion-dollar weapons company disguised as a software start-up. Its AI and surveillance technology turbocharges ICE raids, fuels the genocide in Gaza, the occupation in Palestine, and builds tools for the Department of Defense and domestic policing. We need to act now! Palantir is building a national database that collects and shares personal information across government agencies, including the IRS, and law enforcement, turning every U.S. resident into a potential surveillance target. Palantir technology aggregates large amounts of data normally broken up across many government systems and corporations (including everyday personal data) to identify patterns and information and turns these datasets into instruments of surveillance used by law enforcement, militaries, and governments to watch, arrest, deport and, “on occasion, disappear people”. And it’s “battle tested.” Israel used Palantir’s dangerous AI-enabled technology in the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, in its occupation in Palestine, in targeted killings in Lebanon and this technology is now being used in the US by ICE and other government entities. From Palestine, to Chicago, to Minneapolis and beyond. Our struggles are connected ✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿
