🇨🇺 Join us for a Liberation Forum about Cuba’s internationalist healthcare system and the Cuban people’s heroic resistance to the genocidal U.S. blockade. The event will include a reportback from participants in last month’s @hatueyproject delegation to Cuba. 🗓️ Friday, February 27 ⏰ 6:30 P.M. 📍 @chicagoliberationcenter (2712 W Cermak Rd.) While the illegal US blockade has been around for decades, the Trump administration recently escalated its attacks by blocking any fuel from entering the island, leading to increasing blackouts, halting transportation, and ultimately deteriorating the living conditions of every day working class people. The U.S. is also on a campaign to demonize the Cuban medical brigades and putting pressure on Global South countries to cut ties with the program and expel Cuban doctors, impacting both working class people in those countries who need healthcare and the social programs in Cuba that are funded by the revenue. The Hatuey Project has been sending volunteer medical delegations to Cuba since 2022 to deliver life-saving medicine and equipment.
