Cincinnati Palestine Solidarity Coalition

Poetry Reading

Join us for an evening of poetry, art, & memory on Sunday, September 15 | 6:30–8:30 PM | The Factory Events - 1546 Knowlton St. Queer Palestinian Appalachian poet & journalist, Mandy Shunnarah, will read from their debut collection We Had Mansions & finish with a book signing & Q&A. The cover of We Had Mansions was created by Queer Palestinian-Lebanese artist Christina Sifri, who used stamps from their Sido’s collection (dating back to 1857). Their process reflects how Palestinian family archives hold memory, identity, & proof of existence, artifacts that carry stories waiting to be told. Local Palestinian-American artist & organizer, Noel Maghathe, will lead a hands-on workshop weaving together two family photographs. This collective practice invites participants to explore the stories behind their images, blending memory & history into something new. Please bring two family photos (printed 8x11 or digital copies ready to print/scan). If you have scissors, please bring some as well, though we will have pairs to share. Snacks provided by Dean's Mediterranean! Poetry. Archives. Art. Community. The Factory Events - 1546 Knowlton St Sept 15 | 6:30–8:30 PM
