LASNET (Latin American Solidarity Network)

2026 LASNET OPEN MEETING

Join LASNET in its first open meeting of the new year to strategise, plan and envision a world beyond the capitalist hydra we are enmeshed within. SATURDAY January 17th, 11am-3pm (including collective lunch) at Catalyst, 144 Sydney Road, Coburg. Bring a plate to share, thanks Register in the tile’s QR, in the bio or here: https://forms.gle/NA1YSCKajfmt4tLV9 We will discuss the ongoing situation in Abya Yala and the resurgence of an emboldened US imperialism, asking how and what we can do from here to build solidarity and foster resistance grounded in Indigenous sovereignty and the global struggle for liberation. The meeting will hear directly from organisations in Abya Yala, from Liberation (Chile); MST (Brazil); Support Zapatista bases (Mexico), Resisting Glencore (Colombia), Mapuche people and others, before discussing ideas for our solidarity work and how we can continue to work both here and globally, with all welcome to discuss how LASNET can co-operate and collaborate with collectives here in so called australia. Whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth, the open nature of the meeting will encourage dialogue and discussion of all topics, with a light lunch provided. Hope to see you all there at Catalyst, 144 Sydney Road Coburg. Register in the tile’s QR, in the bio or here: https://forms.gle/NA1YSCKajfmt4tLV9
