This a local Indivisible event! Thank you for joining us in the Statewide Peaceful Protest. We will be standing in solidarity with Memphis, NO TROOPS IN TN and exercising another one of our 1st amendments FREE SPEECH! If this is your first protest usually everyone stands so signs can be held high, but for those that want to participate and can't stand for the duration and want to bring a chair we will find a highly visible location. You can make your signs out of cardboard, posterboard, markers, paints etc. Please make signs as respectful as possible, no swear words and no threatening words. If you are making new signs, please try to include NO TROOPS IN TN and/or FREE SPEECH. Signs that have fewer words are easier to read by passing cars. This will be a safe area, corner of N Garden & 6th, you can literally see the back of Police Dept. Building. Linda and Sandra along with 2-3 volunteers in orange vest will be there for the duration and if you need assistance, please flag one of us down. A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
