Standing with Gaza: Support the Global Sumud Flotilla This weekend, people across the world are taking to the streets to support the Global Sumud Flotilla. Almost 70 boats are carrying hundreds of activists from 44 countries, sailing peacefully to break the illegal siege on Gaza. While governments fail to act, these flotilla ships are stepping in to deliver essential aid. The participants are acting legally, carrying humanitarian assistance, while the blockade itself violates international law. The protest calls for the safe passage of the flotilla, an end to the siege, and justice for the people of Gaza. As our movement’s slogan declares: “When Governments Fail, We The People Sail.” In a concerning development, one of the flotilla’s main vessels was struck by an Israeli drone at a port in Tunisia, causing a fire on the ship. Tunisian authorities have denied these claims, raising questions about the safety of humanitarian missions and the transparency of information surrounding such events. We are also proud to highlight the solidarity shown by Italian dock workers, who have stated they will shut down Europe if Israel does not allow the flotilla to pass. Their support is a powerful example of international solidarity, showing that ordinary people and workers around the world are standing up for justice and the rights of civilians in Gaza.
