BREAK THE BLOCKADE, BUILD THE FUTURE: CUBA SOLIDARITY FUNDRAISER
Corpus Christi DSA
This coming week, some of the most powerful CEOs, executives, and “leaders” of the Trump administration will gather in downtown Houston to mold the future of the world’s energy sector in their favor. It’s time to show those greedy oligarchs that we’ll stand for people and the planet over their profits. It’s time to show them that the people outnumber them a million to one.
These are some of the key architects of the climate crisis, environmental racism, genocide, foreign intervention, and the destruction of our homes. They have blocked us out of a conference where they strategize one-sided advancements of their fossil fueled class war as well as projects and agendas that profoundly impact our homes.
Corpus DSA and Houston DSA have been organizing within a broader Permian and Gulf South climate justice coalition made up of mostly frontline leaders from across the region as well as campaigners from across the country who plan to build a weekend of resistance to the billionaires destroying our shared home. Members of Southwest Louisiana, San Antonio DSA, and North Texas DSA have also been looped into a smaller coalition of DSA chapters planning to drive turnout and interject explicitly ecosocialist politics into a week of struggle. Join us at Break The System, Build The Future — a series of community events, teach-ins, and demonstrations confronting S&P Global’s CERAWeek conference. You’ll have opportunities to connect, learn, and take action alongside some of the most effective frontline organizers from the Gulf South and beyond.
Save the date and make your plans to be there. We’re stronger together. ✊ #CERAWeek #CERAWeek26 #ConfrontingCERAWeek #breakthesystem #buildthefuture givebillionairestheboo
**PLEASE NOTE** The Eco-Socialism 101 Workshop is apart of the coalition’s schedule of events. Consider attending the full workshop and skill share event that will take place from 3:00pm - 6:00pm at First Unitarian Universalist in HTX!
