Not In My Back Yard, Imperial!
DAY OF ACTION: SOUND THE ALARM — NO DATA CENTER!
The Not In My Back Yard, Imperial! movement continues to build momentum. Now more than ever, it is essential for residents to come together and show visible, unified opposition to the proposed Imperial Data Center project and the additional data center developments anticipated for Imperial County.
This gathering is about sending a clear message to the Imperial County Board of Supervisors: Our community does not support irresponsible data center development.
Imperial County is not alone. Rural communities across the United States are fighting back against the rapid expansion of data centers that exploit loopholes such as right-of-way claims and attempts to bypass CEQA environmental review. Many counties and cities have successfully delayed or stopped harmful data center projects. Their success shows that persistent, organized community action works.

10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Residents will gather peacefully to make our voices heard and to loudly declare:
NO DATA CENTER! OUR HOME, OUR VOICE!
Not In My Back Yard, Imperial! is calling for immediate safeguards by the Board of Supervisors to ensure responsible data center development, including:
*Zoning reform requiring data centers to be approved case by case, with mandatory public hearings, instead of “by-right” approvals that allow development with minimal oversight.
*A countywide moratorium on data center development, particularly the most egregious proposals, until protective policies and regulations are established.
Commitment to Nonviolence
A core principle of the Not In My Back Yard, Imperial! movement is a firm commitment to peaceful, lawful, and nonviolent action. We expect all participants to help de-escalate any potential confrontation, respect differing viewpoints, and act responsibly throughout the event.
