We The People - Troubled Nation
Black Friday - For The People
About this event
This Black Friday, instead of lining up for corporate sales, our community is lining up for fairness, dignity, and economic justice. Join us for Black Friday: For the People — a powerful, peaceful rally standing with workers and calling out an economy that puts billionaires and corporations ahead of everyday people.
We’ll gather at the Mershops North County Mall entrance at Via Rancho Parkway & Westfield Way to show solidarity with workers everywhere who deserve respect, safe conditions, and a living wage.
This event is about: ✅ Putting people before corporate profits ✅ Standing up to economic inequality ✅ Supporting workers and communities over billionaire greed ✅ Building a fairer, more human-centered economy ✅ Uniting our voices to demand better
Bring your signs, bring your friends, and bring your energy. Let’s make Black Friday about community, not corporations — and show what people power looks like.
Commitment to Non-Violence
In alignment with bannering groups, resistance campaigns, and protest groups across the U.S., our group remains committed to non-violent protests and to maintaining all constitutional rights, including to peacefully assemble under the First Amendment. To borrow words from 50501 Veterans, "We unequivocally condemn any form of violence, threats of violence, or the suggestion of using weapons in connection with our movement. There is absolutely no place for weapons at any of our events. We will not allow any actions that could endanger others."
Furthermore, we expect all volunteers and all events created under the "We The People - TroubleNation/50501/Indivisible" campaign to be conducted lawfully and responsibly, and disavow anything advocating for violence. Overpass visibility events are legal as long as sidewalks and roadways aren't blocked, and as long as banners/signs are not suspended beyond the pedestrian side of the bridge rail.
Everyone is welcome. Let’s stand together.
