International Workers - Day Without An Immigrant March & Rally

Indivisible Eugene - Springfield

Twenty years after Day Without an Immigrant mass strikes and marches of immigrant workers and their families shut the country down on International Workers Day May 1, 2006 to defeat the racist Sensenbrenner bill, anti-immigrant and anti-worker forces are on the rise again. Just like in 2006, workers are uniting and fighting back! On May 1st 2026, workers across the country are committing to no work, no school, and no shopping—a day of general strike to fight back against ICE terror, endless war, and the billionaire agenda—to remind the ruling class that without us, the workers, everything grinds to a halt. Here in Oregon, alongside Pineros y Campesinos Unidos del Noroeste (PCUN) and their Day Without an Immigrant campaign, community partners and labor unions have built toward May 1 with visibility days of action on December 18, January 19, February 16, March 16, and April 1. We’ve held protests, teach-ins, resource fairs, cultural festivals, vigils, and days of action to spread the word about the campaign. On January 30, we shut it down in Eugene and Springfield in solidarity with Minnesota and we’re aiming for the biggest day yet on May 1. Sign the pledge to commit to no work, no school, no shopping on May 1 (sign at tinyurl.com/DWAIPledge). Join us starting at 12pm at the Wayne Morse Free Speech Plaza at 799 Oak St in Eugene for a rally and march to celebrate the struggle and contributions of immigrant workers and the struggle of all workers for dignity in this system and to demonstrate the power of workers to withhold our labor to win our demands and to fight back against these brazen attacks on working people here in the US and around the world. The workers struggle has no borders, shut it down on May 1 in solidarity with workers everywhere! A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
