Defend Democracy - I-35 Bridge Rally - Forest Lake

PACK THE BRIDGE! Join Indivisible partners from Forest Lake to Duluth for this Labor Day Weekend Bridge Rally. Forest Lake will be covering both the 11th Avenue and Broadway bridges. The theme is Defend Democracy. 11th Ave Bridge - Defend Democracy. 15 sign holders needed for the large letter signs. Broadway Bridge - No Kings. 7 sign holders needed for the large letter signs at minimum. Contact [email protected] if you are interested in holding a large letter sign – please indicate which bridge you prefer. In the event we do not get enough people registered for both bridges, we will rally on the Broadway Bridge with the Defend Democracy signs only. The rally will be held from 4:30-5:30 PM. Arrive no later than 4:10 PM for final instructions and in order to be in position at the rally start. Please disregard the map below. Additional information, including parking instructions and bridge assignments, will be sent the week of August 25. Blue Brigade – BRIDGES PENDING – 4:30-5:30 PM Cloquet Area: We the People – Moose Lake & Esko Bridges – 5:00-6:00 PM Duluth – BRIDGES PENDING – 4:30-5:30 PM Duluth: Good Trouble– 25th Ave E Breakwater Bridge; 16th / 17th Streets Bridge; 60th & London Road Park – 4:30-5:30 PM Duluth: Zenith City – 25th Ave E Breakwater Bridge – 4:30-5:30 PM Additional Instructions, Safety & Security Bring signs, props, water bottles, chairs, phone, and dress for the weather. Stay on public sidewalks, crosswalks, and pathways at all times. Do not impede pedestrian or vehicle traffic. Stay back from the roadway. Indivisible events are always peaceful, lawful, respectful, and positive. Do NOT engage with counter protestors or provocateurs. If you encounter any negative comments or gestures by passersby, just smile and wave. A safety crew in yellow vests will be stationed at each rally area to assist you, if needed. Our rallies have been largely peaceful. As always, the Forest Lake Police Department will be on call should we encounter any problems. Do not hesitate to reach out to someone in a yellow vest if you have concerns.
