🚨Stop the War Scotland statement on the US-Israel attack on Iran, and Scottish Government response In the wake of a massive and deadly attack on Iran by the US and Israel, First Minister John Swinney has failed to condemn the aggression and instead denounced Iran. News of heavy civilian casualties, including dozens of children killed in the bombing of a girls’ school, makes clear that this criminal and reckless assault on Iran must stop. The Scottish Government must oppose this latest in a long series of aggressive US actions. This hawkish tone from Swinney comes at a time when Scotland is being drawn deeper into US influence. Just weeks ago, Scotland was used as a launchpad for US piracy in the North Atlantic, as part of the illegal US siege of Venezuela. Scots do not want to be party to US aggression in Iran, the North Sea, Gaza, Venezuela or anywhere else. It’s time to break the link with US militarism.
