ICE Out For Good Great Neck: De-ICE Citizens Bank!
Indivisible
In January 2026, two American citizens were killed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This killing is part of a broader pattern of unchecked violence, impunity, and abuse carried out by federal immigration enforcement agencies against members of our communities.
Detainees end up in abominable conditions, in private prisons run by CoreCivic and GEO group. And these companies are being financed by Citizens Bank.
Citizens Bank talks a lot about valuing diversity and building strong communities. What they don't talk about: they're helping for-profit prison companies get the cash they need to lock more people away in ICE detention.
You've heard the stories that come out of the facilities run by CoreCivic and The GEO Group. 911 dispatchers flooded with calls. Severe medical neglect. Children locked up for months on end. But even as the heartbreaking stories pour out of ICE detention centers, Citizens Bank keeps pouring money into them.
Citizens Bank has dodged accountability for their important role in supporting inhumane ICE detention. Until now.
Join Singing Resistance Great Neck as we demonstrate in front of the Great Neck branch of Citizens Bank from 4:00-5:00 PM on Thursday, April 23. We will hold signs, sing songs, and educate people on the reasons why they should boycott Citizens Bank and demand accountability.
A core principle behind all ICE Out For Good events is a commitment to nonviolent action and no civil disobedience. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values, and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
