Lives on the Line Greensboro: Raising Alarms Over ACA Subsidy Cuts
As Congress stands poised to allow enhanced subsidies under the ACA to expire at the end of 2025, millions of people face a stark reality: insurance premiums could surge, health care could become unaffordable, and rural hospitals could face closure. Join us for a die-in — a symbolic public exercise in which participants lie down as if “dead” — to draw attention to what’s at stake if lawmakers do not act to extend protections that keep health care within reach for nearly a million North Carolinians.
Bring signs to encourage our federal lawmakers to protect the ACA subsidies, our state lawmakers to full fund Medicaid and pass a state budget, or general signs supporting rural healthcare.
We will be meeting at the Latham Park at the intersection of North Elm Street and Tankersley (across the street from Cone Hospital).
Event sponsored by Indivisible Guilford County as well as the NC Poor People's Campaign.
