Surrey police have announced their new policy on policing the trans community, and its as disappointing as expected: • Surrey police has repeatedly ignored previous requests for trans voices to be heard in regard to their new policies. • Quarterly trans meetings with the force have ended in frustration over the lack of communication • Officers are permitted to strip search individuals who have been assigned the sane sex at birth as them, regardless of legal, medical or social transition. • The policy shows a blatant disregard for community cohesion or practicality, with the force putting up no protest despite claiming their support for our community If you want to stand against transphobic policing, then join us on the 20th of September in protest against the policy.
