🏆The ‘Hinzpeter Awards' is South Korea's first international journalism award established to honor the spirit of Jurgen Hinzpeter, the reporter who captured the truth of the May 18 Gwang-ju Democratization Movement in 1980. This award is presented to video journalists around the world who risk their lives to document the front lines of democracy, human rights, and peace.
📌 Part 1. Documentary Screening [7:00-8:00PM]
🎬 “Rescue Mission Gaza”: This is part of the documentary Voices from Gaza, which received The World at a Crossroads Award at the 2024 Hinzpeter Awards. which captures the life-and-death struggle of Gaza paramedics, three weeks after the outbreak of the War on Gaza.
🎬 “Kids Under Fire”: This documentary exposes Israel's war crimes of deliberately targeting children. It reveals the nature and reality of this genocide, winning the Yu Young-gil Award at the 2025 Hinzpeter Awards.
📌 Part 2. Talk with the Directors: “There is no peace in Gaza now” [8:00-9:30 PM]
A post-screening talk via online video conference with directors Mohammed Sawwaf of “Rescue Mission Gaza” and Ashraf Mashharawi of “Kids Under Fire”.
