Journeying With Justice
Upper Valley For Palestine
Join Upper Valley For Palestine and JVP VT/NH for "Journeying With Justice", the final event in our series of presentations to support Hartford's Apartheid Free Communities Ballot Initiative, on March 1 at 3pm, at the Bugbee Senior Center in White River Junction Vermont.
We will feature a slideshow and talk from two Vermont women reporting on their recent trip to the West Bank where they met with Palestinians living under Apartheid and military occupation.
Bethany Nolan and Carmela Ormando recently traveled to the occupied West Bank with Sabeel, an ecumenical Palestinian Christian organization, for a three week delegation with friends of the Catholic Worker movement. The Catholic Worker aims for people to live differently. The organization is inspired by Dorothy Day and Peter Maurin who wanted to build a society “where it is easier for people to be good.”
Following Bethany and Carmela's presentation, we will hear from longtime Hartford resident Mohsen Mahdawi. Mohsen will speak to his own personal experience of growing up under Apartheid, coming to the Upper Valley, becoming an advocate for justice and facing ongoing persecution from the Trump Administration.
