Indivisible

Heathsville MLK DAY Rally for PEACE

Far from being satisfied by its invasion of Venezuela and the murder of US Citizen, Renee Good, the regime's zeal for waging war grows. Our government now threatens to "straighten out" Colombia, Cuba, and Mexico, and to take Greenland from Denmark, our NATO ally, "with force if needed". Rather than withdraw its militarized secret police from Minneapolis after ICE killed a local mother and terrorized a school full of children, DHS seeks to send more force to silence any calls for accountability. Fear, violence, and oppression are the point. The moment we obey in advance and censor our own dissent, fascism has won. On this MLK Day, 2026, we seek to live up to the words of the great advocate for peace, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter... It is not enough to say we must not wage war. It is necessary to love peace and sacrifice for it." Join us in assembling to wage peace at home and abroad with a rally at 72 Monument Place, the old Heathsville Court House on Rt 360 in the spirit of MLK. Nonviolence is the way. Please feel free to bring family and friends, as many as you can. Wear warm clothing and bring your signs, a chair, flowers, hand warmers, soft beverages, and/or snacks for yourself, and to share if you can! A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
