ICE OUT of Long Island! - FUERA ICE! - Peaceful walk/ Marcha Pacifica
National Day Laborer Organizing Network
Across the country, communities are organizing to disentangle local law enforcement from federal immigration enforcement. When local police or sheriffs collaborate with ICE, it undermines trust, separates families, and makes all of us less safe.
Our goal is simple and clear:
No local resources for ICE. No contracts. No data-sharing. No collaboration.
At this event, we will begin at the Home Depot in Hempstead, where hard working day laborers have been racially profiled, harassed, and arrested by ICE. We will will then walk peacefully to the Village of Hempstead.
We stand united, sending a clear message that our communities deserve protection, respect, and solidarity— we need ICE OUT of Long Island!
This effort builds on years of organizing led by immigrant communities nationwide — from the fight against 287g contracts to the sanctuary victories that have proven local action works. Cities and states that say NO to ICE are a critical bulwark against mass deportations and the erosion of civil rights.
There is much that we can do locally. And there is much that our elected officials can do — if we demand courage and leadership. Join us!
