NO DICTATORS

Whether we are Black, white or brown, Native or immigrant, transgender or not, we deserve and demand the freedom to be ourselves. Trump wants to hold onto power by intimidating us and putting us in boxes based on what we look like, where we’re from, or our genders. We see this in how schools tell Black kids how to keep their hair or send girls home for the clothes they wear. And in how Trump and his minions exploit the lack of familiarity with transgender people, excluding trans kids from healthcare, school, or sports. They stoke fear so we turn against one another instead of demanding what we all and our families need. We stood up and raised our voices on June 14th, and now it’s time again to show up and shout NO DICTATORS, we reject this division, abuse of power, destruction of our democracy, and chart a better future for all of us, no matter our age, race, or gender. By joining together to demand protections against discrimination, embrace diversity, and reject fascism, we can ensure that all of us have the freedom to be ourselves, pursue our dreams, and have a good life in a safe and just country. We are delighted and honored to have ACLU-Hawaiʻi and Pride at Work as co-sponsors of this Indivisible event. Note that after the rally at the Capitol, we will join the Pride Parade at 3 PM and march from Magic Island to Waikiki Shell. We will also take part in the Festival that evening.
