Ritual Tashlich | Calling Out For Justice

INDIANAPOLIS—Join us for a Tashlich ritual to reject the US-Israeli genocide in Gaza and commit to collective action to end it. Sunday, September 21 6pm 347 W 11th St Indianapolis IN (Behind the building, at the canal basin) As we approach the High Holidays, Jews make teshuvah or repentance, which includes rejecting and repairing the harm done in our name. At this time, the distance between our values and the Jewish institutions that continue to support or ignore the Israeli military’s genocide in Gaza could not be more clear. So we are creating a space for folks of any or no faith, Jews and allies, to engage in the Jewish ritual of Tashlich that embodies our collective commitment to end the genocide in Gaza. Tashlich means “cast away” because in this ancient ritual we cast away our transgressions into water during the period of Teshuvah, in preparation for the new year. This year, Tashlich requires casting away our complicity in genocide. The US-backed Israeli military is bombing and starving two million people, using our tax dollars while falsely claiming to act for Jewish safety. Through gathering together for Tashlich we take collective responsibility for this overwhelming harm and commit to collective action for repair. We call out for justice. We call on @tos_elliott to stop buying and renewing Israel bonds. We call on @sentoddyoung to remember his own words and allow RUTF food packets into Gaza to treat malnourished children. We call on all people of conscience to join us in pressuring these and all elected officials to do the right thing: end the genocide in Gaza.
