Indianapolis Monthly Solidarity Rally

Jewish Voice for Peace-Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS—Join our monthly solidarity rally THIS FRIDAY, 4:30-5:30pm outside the Governor’s mansion as we demand ICE OUT! In the face of fascism, we keep us safe. This means demanding freedom for Palestinian & Columbia University protester Leqaa Kordia, imprisoned by ICE for almost one year and recently hospitalized as a result of horrific detention conditions. It means resisting our state’s collaboration with ICE, and legislation like SB76 that would increase it. Already our state and local jails eagerly hand people over to ICE, and some facilities double as ICE detention centers. In Miami Correctional Facility, Cambodian refugee Lorth Sim died in ICE custody last week, the seventh such death so far this year. The prison itself cruelly bears the name of the displaced Indigenous Miyaamia people. We are reminded how, for centuries, dehumanization has fueled land theft and profit. Today, billionaire-owned tech like Palantir powers both ICE and IOF terror, while private security like G4S profits off brutalizing people from the U.S. to the West Bank. Prisons are inhumane, and accepting these conditions for people deemed “criminals” creates an ever-widening net that endangers us all. All forms of oppression are linked, and our liberation is intertwined. We cannot afford to leave anyone behind. This is why we insist: come for one, face us all. We refuse to deem anyone disposable. Or as Eugene V. Debs put it, “while there is a criminal element I am of it, and while there is a soul in prison, I am not free.” #FreePalestine #FreeLeqaaKordia #FreeThemAll
