🥪🫂Mutual aid food distribution! Join UCI SJP, Resist US-Led War at UCI, MEChA de UCI, SAFIRE, Anakbayan UCI, and Rise 4 Rights UCI for a free grocery distribution on Friday, November 14, from 12–4pm! Following the distribution, we will also be hosting a community picnic at 4:30pm. With the ongoing government shutdown, many UCI community members have been facing growing food insecurity among other basic needs challenges. While some may have received their November benefits, there is still confusion and uncertainty surrounding the future of SNAP benefits. The UCI administration has long failed to prioritize the basic needs of our students and workers, shown through lack of adequate funding for the Basic Needs Center, and other campus resources that are not deemed profitable. We as students must organize to meet this need in our community, and to create a space where people’s voices are heard and their basic needs are prioritized.
