Zinke: Don't Be A Grinch!
This a local Indivisible event!
Join us for a Flathead Democracy good ol' fashioned protest and rally at Rep Zinke's office. We will be meeting at his Kalispell office to deliver a copy of the petition we signed at the last No Kings Rally with over 6,000 signatures on it.
The Petition to Protect had 4 demands. We the People, respectfully ask Senator Steve Daines, Senator Tim Sheehy, Representative Troy Downing, Representative Ryan Zinke, and Governor Greg Gianforte to commit to four essential actions to protect our constitutional rights and freedoms, and support representative democracy:
1) Publicly condemn political violence.
2) Publicly support and protect the right to assemble, protest and speak.
3) Publicly support and protect due process rights.
4) Publicly condemn the use of U.S. military forces against civilians.
The full text of the petition is at this link: https://www.change.org/p/petition-to-protect-demand-that-montana-elected-officials-defend-montanans-and-our-rights?recruiter=842211047&recruited_by_id=fe306ab0-dfb5-11e7-b2f6-4b087f541e14&utm_source=share_petition&utm_campaign=petition_dashboard&utm_medium=copylink
Upon delivery, we will write Rep Zinke's name on the Naughty List, deliver him a couple pieces of "coal" and sing him some "revised" Christmas Carols to celebrate the occasion. We will have Santa hats for everyone for the occasion and please dress in your most festive (and warm) attire.
As always, this will be a peaceful demonstration. We ask participants remain on the sidewalk, follow all traffic laws, and do not block the sidewalk. We will meet on the sidewalk in front of Zinke's office, but please do not park in the parking lot there. Please use street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods and carpool with a friend!
If you have any questions or want to volunteer for this event, please email [email protected]. There will also be a scheduled a zoom planning meeting on Monday, December 15 @5:30. Email us for the zoom link!
A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
