La Crosse Indivisible
Defending Democracy: Supporting Our Unsheltered Neighbors
La Crosse Indivisible will be participating in the Economic Blackout that is scheduled for November 28th to December 2nd due to the continued destruction of our democracy and dismissal of people for profit. We are also encouraging people to not participate in the typical black Friday shopping. Instead, consider stocking up before or after the black out. We need to hit corporations in the purse because money is the only thing that matters to them. If you need to shop, shop locally, but otherwise, don't frequent any shops or restaurants. Call out of work if you are able. Try your best to not contribute to capitalism!
We ask you to join us in our continued endeavors as we rally together in front of Valley View Mall to participate in compassion, the truest form of patriotism. We are partnering with the non-profit WINN (What I Need Now) to gather single-serve food and beverages, hygiene items, and monetary donations to help our unsheltered neighbors. They, like many of us, are frustrated, scared and under threat because of how the government is choosing to spend our money.
There is no shortage of food, no shortage of shelter, and no shortage of medicine. Instead, we have ample corporate greed and wealth for just a few. Bring your voices, raise your signs, and stand in solidarity with a community that is fighting against a corrupt government. The people in charge of this government are choosing to take food from the mouths of the hungry, choosing to take knowledge from the uneducated, choosing to take medicine from the sick, and choosing to take money from the poor, all for their own personal gain.
Continue to stand with us and others across the country and the world. This is OUR country!
